About JailBot
This bot disciplines users by not allowing them to see any other channels other than the "Jail" category that is set up and automatically releases them after their sentence is up. The inmates can send messages in one channel that is shared with Jail Mods in order to dispute their sentence. There is a tickets channel that shows the status (serving time or released), when they were jailed, the user that jailed them, the reason (entered by the jailer), and how long they will be in for.
Commands
Require Administrator Permission (So that random users cannot change the bot's settings)
/setup - Run this after the first time inviting the bot. It will step you through configuring it for your server.
/timezone - Sets the timezone that will be used to display the time inmates were jailed and their release time.
/set-general-notifs-channel - Assigns a channel in your server to send jail notifications so that other server members know who was jailed.
/disable-dispute-sentence-channel - Disables and deletes the dispute sentence channel in the jail category.
/enable-dispute-sentence-channel - Enables and creates the dispute sentence channel in the jail category.
/enable-jail-vote - Enables the option for members to vote to jail another member.
/disable-jail-vote - Disables the option for members to vote to jail another member.
Can Be Run with the Jail Mod Role
/jail <member> - Jails the given user for the specified amount of time.
/release - Releases an inmate out of jail early.
Can Be Run By Anyone
/start-jail-vote - Starts a vote to jail a member.
Required Permissions
Manage Roles - Needed to create the jail role that will be assigned to all inmates.
Manage Channels - Needed to create the category and channels that the inmates will be "held" in.
Read Messages - Obviously to receive input from users in commands (mainly the timezone command).
Send Messages - So the bot can send messages to users.
Manage Messages - This is used in a couple different places. One mainly being updating tickets when an inmate is released.
Read Message History - This goes along with Read Messages and allows the bot to read the message history of channels (again mainly used for user input).
Use Application Commands - This allows the bot to enable slash commands on your server. Without this, you won't be able to use any commands.
Move Members - If an inmate is currently in a voice channel when they are jailed, this permission will be required in order to kick them from that channel.
Mute Members and Manage Threads - Needed to create the category and channels that the inmates will be "held" in. Doesn't make sense but Discord requires it.
